It is with a heavy heart that I reflect on the passing of my dear friend Sal, a man whose life was a testament to quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and the simple joys that bind us all. Born on January 10, 1943, Sal lived a full 82 years, building not just homes and communities as a certified contractor in Cape Coral, Florida, but also forging lasting bonds with those around him. He departed this world peacefully on September 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, family devotion, and that infectious warmth that made every conversation feel like coming home.
I remember Sal as a pillar in his community—a skilled builder who turned visions into reality, whether through his work with development projects or the way he nurtured his loved ones. He shared a beautiful life with his late wife, Janice, who preceded him in 2021, and together they raised their children, Toni and Michael, instilling in them the values of integrity and perseverance. His grandchildren, Hector and Michelle, were the light of his later years, bringing him endless pride and laughter.
Though the years took us on different paths—mine through the trials of service in the Army, his through the steady rhythm of family and craftsmanship—our shared stories of resilience connected us deeply. Sal had a way of listening, of offering wisdom without fanfare, reminding me that true heroism often lies in the everyday acts of kindness and commitment. His peaceful passing in the place he called home, Cape Coral, feels fitting for a man who found contentment in the sun-drenched shores and the company of those he cherished.
To Sal’s family and friends, may you find solace in the memories of his gentle spirit and the impact he made. He may be gone, but his influence endures, like the sturdy foundations he laid.
Rest easy, old friend. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
With deepest sympathy,
S. Vincent Anthony
